26 Prayers for 26 Million Teens: God’s Calling
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
– Jeremiah 1:5
Pop culture offers teens a shallow life. It’s full of video games, fashion magazines, endless teen dramas on TV and hours upon hours of what the Auca Indians of Ecuador call “Onoke,” or “that which is not vital for existence.”
What do you think most teens would answer if you asked what they think their “calling” in life might be? Most likely, they would answer that it’s some kind of profession they’ve seen on TV, or whatever it is their parents do.
Doesn’t sound too fulfilling, does it?
Why the lack of vision? Where does this generation of teens see themselves going?
A lot of teens truly want to make a difference in this world, but they need to know their destiny first. God has created each teenager with unique gifts and talents, and He intends for them to use their abilities to make a lasting mark on the world. It doesn’t mean every single teen is called to be an Apostle Paul or a Mother Teresa. The important thing is that teens realize just WHAT it is they are called to do!
That happens through a relationship with Jesus Christ and earnestly seeking God’s will. Teens today can’t go it alone. We need to intercede on their behalf, asking God to show them the great plans He has for teens’ lives.
Join me in prayer:
“Lord, I ask you to reveal to America’s 26 million teens not only Your love, but also Your incredible plans for their lives! I believe you are raising up a generation who will follow after You in a relentless pursuit, impacting the world for Your glory. Open their eyes and their hearts to the truth, that the only real fulfillment in life is from running after You. Amen”
