The Director of Development, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, provides strategic direction, tactical execution, and operational leadership for Teen Mania’s fundraising initiatives with dotted line responsibility to the Chief Executive Officer. He/she accomplishes this through effective talent management, consistently achieving assigned objectives, and demonstrating a commitment to the Teen Mania mission through positive interactions with all internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated walk with our Lord and consciously strives to live Teen Mania’s core values.
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated fundraising and management experience, with direct solicitation of high-level individual donors
- Successful experiences in improving cost effectiveness
- Understands organizational not for profit structure while integrating secular best in practice solutions.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a Christian youthful workforce.
- Understands the current youth culture and performance and how change impacts both.
- Possesses willingness to support ministry goals and ability to gain support of others
- Skilled communicator, team player, effective listener, articulate presenter and interpreter
- Demonstrated ability to implement fundraising best practices, engage participation from all levels, and generate immense excitement for Teen Mania’s work.
- Strong sense of fundraising ethics and respect for confidentiality of donor information
- Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with an ability to articulate the complex concepts of Teen Mania’s work with passion and commitment
- Results orientation, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within budget and deadlines
- Strong computer skills; knowledge of Salesforce and Oracle databases are helpful
- Confident public speaker
- Commitment to working in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel as needed
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university is required; Masters is a plus
