Here's one testimony from a girl who attended one of our Acquire the Fire events:
Anna grew up blaming God for a father who had left before she was born. She never had a father who truly cared for her. In 8th grade she began to cut her wrists and arms. “I wanted to feel pain and to be ugly. I kept all this unforgiveness in my heart, and it was killing me.” Recently Anna went to one of Teen Mania’s Acquire the Fire events. She states, “Ron Luce was preaching and said there were people who were struggling with depression and suicide. I started crying as I realized that God really cared about me.” Right at that moment, Anna had a life-changing encounter with God and has been on-fire ever since. “I have given up my unforgiveness and hatred. God has taught me that he is the Father I have been looking for!”
God touched Anna's heart that weekend. Each year, we receive thousands of e-mails, letters and calls just like this one from teenagers across North America and nations worldwide: pleas for help, cries for meaning.
We want to see the tide turned with today’s teens anf believe God has given us a stategic plan to do so. Although we've set some aggressive goals, we cannot reach this generation alone.
